I didn’t think about that. Makes sense though.

To be determined

I could be a real Debbie Downer here and show him what the material and labor costs are in 2021 for a quality tandem axle trailer.

I have a 14 and a 16’ PJ I don’t use very much if anyone needs a good trailer, both tandems with ramps. 18 or 19 models.

As far as the illegals, their still working away at all the trailer company’s. I drive by them daily and know very well what’s going on, everybody around here does. PJ, Maxey, Load Trail, etc etc are all built within 6 miles of where I live. Some are worse than others but their are tons of them working away still.

Like I said, I’ll pay for quality. I’m not paying $4,000 for a trailer that is using a cars spare wheel as it’s normal wheels, no name axles, no name jack, and no name tongue. 2 inch angle that’s 1/8 thick for upper rails and uprights isn’t going to cut it for a $4,000 trailer.

Now if it were a Lamar or PJ or MaxxD I would happily shell out $4,000 for what I need. Looks like I’ll be waiting until mid March for one from one of those dealers.

I am better off today than I was back in the day, even with the higher prices.

Glad I don't need one.

A buddy of mine just sold his lake house for 350,000 more than he expected. The buyer also took his $120,000 boat for $140,000.
They come here with too much money and spend like drunken deer hunters.

Fear is the motivating factor....they fear they will not get it so they spend what it takes to acquire it.

Real estate will always, in most all scenarios, continue to appreciate in value.

I absolutely refuse to buy a new truck though......the prices they are quoting me are ridiculous. Used truck prices are ridiculous.

We are gonna find out how long a 2017 F-250 with a 6.7 will last in my line of work.

So do you think I could my money back on a 12ft single axle pipe top I bought 5 years ago? grin

Ive got a well built no name 16-foot tandem. It has dexter axles on it. Bought it in '07, replaced a few light bulbs and repacked the wheel bearings one time and its still a great trailer. It goes between san antonio and Hebronville monthly or more with feed sometimes a tractor, and it moved an entire 1400 square foot house that same trip a few thousand pounds at a time. Just because it is no name doesnt mean its a bad trailer.

I'll gladly pay more for American jobs and parts but if the prices are going to be 10% higher, don't charge me 20% more. They always gouge on the price and blame it on something else.

It’s common sense stuff, if the prices are all going up on goods then it’s going to be a trickle down effect. I’m having to charge more for the jobs we do now that weren’t under contract prior to this mess starting which in turn they will have to charge more for on their end passing it on to end user. It’s a normal occurrence and just how our economy works, however this time it’s happening so fast it’s literally shocking the business owners that have contracts locked in such as myself and putting massive strains on company’s. I’m sure some will argue the point but it is what it is. I’m 100% for keeping everything made in America and the prices going up accordingly but that’s definitely not what’s happening here. It will level out in the near future and everyone will adjust to it but currently it sucks for those of us having to endure it from a business standpoint. The days of thinking something was priced fairly are over and unfortunately I don’t see them ever coming back.
I had 2 new 5500’s on order and I got a call several weeks ago that the prices were going up almost $13,000 a piece over our original agreement, I had to pass this year hoping next year would be better but it may come back to bite me if they go up 20k next year.

Theirs going to be a mass number of businesses going bankrupt in the next 12-18 months, it’s already started.
