I am wanting something to set up that will hold my rifle very steady for some long range shooting.
Whatcha recommend? I’ve seen some that are VERY expensive. I am not looking for the Ferrari, but definitely not searching for a Yugo, either.

As far as tripods go RRS is the best but pricey. Leofoto makes some that are equally as capable model depending. Another bargain option is the no name tripod sold by two vets sporting goods.

I'm more than happy with my Warne.

I’m running a Hog Saddle and it works fine for spotting at matches and occasionally setting my AR in it for my son to shoot. Best of the best is Really Right Stuff but 3x what I have in mine. Look at the Leofoto’s as already mentioned. Probably a good compromise between the other ends.

Best- RRS or Spartan precision..

Beware of to light weight, heavier the platform steadier it is.

I run an Inorrel CF tripod that I got off Amazon, it’s $300, not light weight but very sturdy. It’s topped off with a Reaper Grip, there’s really no substitute for the Reaper.

This is a 14.5 pound rifle and it is very steady

I’m using a Bog Pod Death Grip. For the money compared to others, I’m very happy with it. It holds my 6.8 with suppressor and my Tikka 270 with no issues. I bought the cheaper very, so it is a bit heavy.

I went with the carbon fiber version (only $200ish). I have had it a year works great. I can see where the “head” will not last forever but it is what it is. So far holds everything I put in it. I have not a bench rest gun in it. But it holds my .33 nosler with a Supressor on it. I trust it to hold it when I walk away. I have used it 30-40 times.

yep, sure, why not

I have the BOG Deathgrip I just bought the aluminum one off Amazon $125 delivered to the house.
I have not shot off it but it holds my 15 pound prs type rifle pretty dang well.
