I just bought some 308 Remington brass. Up toward the neck, on the case is an oval shaped mark. It looks like a pressed cut line in the case. I
would post pics if I knew how but I don’t. I’ve never seen this oval circle on brass. Can anyone give info?

Seems as though I have heard of something similar caused by the case hitting parts of the action when fired from a semiauto?

Brass from an HK91 pattern rifle will normally have a big dent in it.

I got that mark when I ran a double ejector bolt in my AR10...I ended up swapping to a single ejector bolt and it fixed my issues. I could've removed or cut the springs out on the ejectors but didn't want to mess with that.

Finally got the pic. I have 250 just recieved as once fired. They all have the same mark.

Whatever gun those were fired in had a defect in the chamber.

No whoever used that brass had a pressure gauge attached. Would assume it came from range at a a ammo maker.
Should be fine.
