A few months ago I saw something in a magazine about a museum in San Antonio with all sorts of old cowboy gear, boots, spurs, chaps, etc. I forgot to write down the name. WELL I'll be going down there in a month and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this museum and if it is worthwhile to see. THANKS

Briscoe Western Art Museum in downtown San Antonio. We like it. It's not huge and you can get through it in 45 minutes or so. Lots of stuff to do right around there.

Not too far from the Alamo is (was?) a western museum and bar. Great combination. Their Bloody Mary was great and I enjoyed the museum.

Yep! The Buckhorn Saloon and Bar.

Used to be the main library. My mom went there when she was in school as a little girl. (1920s to 30s).

The Buckhorn used to be out at the Lone Star Brewery. The union shut it down.

I haven't been to the Buckhorn since it was on S. Presa? I dont know what it looks like now.

I remember the old library when it was the Hertzberg museum. The Briscoe is a really good museum if you are into Texas art.

Down Broadway about 5 miles there the Witte museum, its another museum worth checking out.

One more thing if you bank with Bank of America the some museums are free the first full weekend of every month. I know its good at the Briscoe.

The freak photos at the Hertzberg Museum were the bomb. Daddy took me there bunches. Then Casa Rio. Now we go to La Margarita and sometimes, Budro's on the river.
