How many of yall hunt solo? I prefer it, I'm kind of a loner though. I enjoy just me and the dog spending time in nature letting my head clear.
But I know alot of guys that would never hunt solo.
What do you prefer?

Ideally I prefer one other gun with me, maybe two. But, with a good dog I'm starting to like hunting solo more and more.
I know the dog won't tell everybody about my spots, too. I've had that bite me for the last time.

My sons like to hunt with me, so I always have them in tow. Never have enjoyed the solo hunt much anyway, but if my sons can't go I will go with buddies. Most of the time some of my buddies join in and, if not hunting in the same blind, at least at camp together.

But, with a good dog I'm starting to like hunting solo more and more. Yeah, it makes a difference. I prefer solo most of the time, always have. But I occasionally like to hunt with others. I just like the time alone with my dog, and doing my own hunt. When I hunt with others, it is a different kinda hunt for me, I normally let it be their hunt, I'm there for fun, and I like to do group hunts like that. And normally I'm the last one to shoot, its kinda like bowling, you start to make your move, and the guy in the other lane makes his move, I stop and let him go, then I go after him. Its just my natural reaction. Some of my best group shot memories is when everyone else has pulled the trigger, I raise up and drop one or 2. When I hunt solo, it is instinctive, gun to face and pull the trigger.

I mostly hunt with a group but I like to hunt solo when I can to just enjoy the scenery, the dog, calling, etc. It is easier to hide by myself rather than in a group in a blind. If I can I like to lay on a bank if hunting ducks or in a grown up fence row if hunting geese. The silence of a solo hunt or just the noises of nature are relaxing and a great way to spend a morning.

When my family had our ranch I used to solo hunt all the time. But it was only a 5 minute drive from the house to where I would hunt. Didn't have to mess with decoys.

I have hunted both with buddies and Solo. I have limited out only once with the solo hunt and got skunked a couple of times. As for with buddies, we have yet to limit but I sure have more laughs with them around.

Either way for me. I don’t care to hunt in a large group 6+.

If you hunt by yourself you can only shoot 6 birds........ But seriously I prefer to hunt with 1 or 2 other people, 4 max.
When you are hunting by yourself and just need 6 birds I generally watch ducks a lot more and can be more selective.

Small group or hunt solo. Three people is about my limit unless we are hunting flooded timber and can spread out some. I don't have a dog anymore but once we move I am going to get one. It will be my last but we should age out about the same time. Two old farts sleeping by the fireplace dreaming of past hunts.
No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

Hunt solo more so than with a group. Never more than 3 others, usually 2-3 of us when i am hunting with others. Don’t like hunting with 5+ people

I prefer to hunt with a group but that only happens when I get invited to my friends' ranches or leases. I tend to hunt solo on public land about once a week since I don't own or lease hunting property (I'm 23) and I find it hard to convince my buddies to hunt public land. My friends that hunt have leases or land so they'd rather do a few successful hunts at their place a year than waste time going to public land I do and only be successful 1/10 tries. I enjoy getting out there every week though and being outside even if I have no luck. Rather be doing that than sitting around playing videogames or watching netflix.

You can only kill six birds, so why do I want to have other pick shots on a flock. Solo I can shoot what I want and move at my leisure if needed. I have hunted with too many armchair quarterback's on set up, guage choice, shooting 2 2/4 inch shells, specie shot, My uncurbable desire to see feet drop over a decoy, limit quick and let the birds have the hole the rest of the day. I really like seeing a flock of sprigs or mottlles light in the decks after I have shot one earlier. But I have killed one or two ducks over 40 years and sometime watching still teaches me something.

Half my hunts are solo, maybe a little more. Most of the rest are with a buddy and a handful are with 3 or 4 buddies. Its all good. We get to talking chit when there are 3 or 4 of us. My single buddy hunts are nice as its just the 2 of us. I can't imagine hunting ducks on public water with 5 or more, good lord.
