Hello all,
It's hard to get on public property in deep south and deep west texas! The closest open pig property to the south is Guadalupe Delta WMA, which is basically attached at the coast to the Aransas NWR for the Whooping Cranes (a lil bit north of Corpus).
Has anyone successfully hunted this site for pigs? I went last May and only saw rabbits, raccoons, and cows. If anyone has tips for this property, it would be much appreciated as it would save me and family more than 4 hours additional driving to get to forest land around Houston. (it's already 4 to get to this place from the RGV ).

Chris, there's hogs in the Lincoln Natl. forest just up the hill from El Paso near Mayhill, Weed, and Timberon, NM.
IIRC, all you need is a temporary small game lic. and perhaps an attached public land stamp.
Not sure how many you'll see, and can only hunt daylight hours there, but it may be something for future reference.

I'll check it out, I cannot express how frustrating that all the best hunting nearby is a different state. I didn't know that about the hogs not needing the usual pricy out of state fees. For my family still in the RGV down south around Brownsville and Edinburg, i'm still trying to find out where the pigs are at Guadalupe Delta WMA if anyone knows (or someone who needs some hogs cleared out down in the RGV itself).
