I knew these pigs were at the feeder so I stalked in to about 50yards of them. My green lights on the feeders weren’t working because of the snow, they are solar powered. The moon was full so I could still see them so I made the shot. It wasn’t full enough and I hit the post. Not even the 450 Bushmaster was enough rifle to make up for my mistake. They got off easy that night.
I did the same thing to one of my feeder legs in the back yard. Was chasing a varmint with a.22 pistol and it ran under the feeder headed for the creek at a dead run. I aimed and shot as it tan behind the feeder...center punched one of the feeder legs!
I couldn’t repeat that shot if I was trying
