Bill at Fin and Bones Taxidermy just finished a Montana grayling replica for me. Always love his work.

Those Grayling are beautiful fish, I've caught hundreds of them in Alaska, good eating too. That mount looks good.

There’s one river in Montana with a small native population. Made three overnight trips over there from our cabin and finally caught one. Was about to give up again and then caught two in about 30 minutes.

We caught them out of a river flowing through my grandparents farm outside Fairbanks. Would catch a few rainbows and had an occasional salmon, but mostly grayling in the river. A big one would be 18", but most we caught were 12-15". All caught fly fishing with a "hair's ear" or on grasshoppers we caught in the yard, Lol.
Great memories.

Sounds like it. up

I was excited as a kid when I caught that one. Just like when I shot my first woodcock over my pup Jenny. There’s nothing like having a goal and then having it happen.
