Who here owns a Polaris RZR? I’m looking at a 2021 RZR Turbo 4 S Velocity as a new SxS for the family. I considered the Honda Talon but I’m just not sold on the transmission. I am familiar with the CVT belt drive as that’s what I have currently.

What’s the hood and bad of the Turbo RZR’s? It will be used on trails from the west (Moab) to the east (Hatfield- McCoy) and everywhere in between. I don’t go looking for mud, but I don’t shy away from it if encountered on the trail.

Pretty sold on a talon but I am not buying an 1000-x4 if it is black and snot/baby chit green accents. I am looking at this machine as well and the turbo is a nice little add on.

Having owned both Polaris and Honda models (however not a RZR or Talon) I would never buy another Polaris. The DCT is fantastic in my Pioneer. Metal gears are superior to belt drive, IMO, and the paddle shifters are pretty sweet.

If you haven't already, go drive both, I think you'll like the Honda more.

He has drove the honda but he just does not want to agree that I was right on that. I have not drove either but my quads are honda and the quality shows and they are 2011s and very reliable. I am just not good with the color scheme of the new talon.

Polaris owns the SXS market for a reason. If I was buying a 4-wheeler I’d go Honda, but not a SXS.

My FIL has a 2020 Talon 1000-4 Live Valve. It’s fun, but the jerkiness of the transmission engaging and experience with Honda automatic & electric shift transmissions is what gives me concern. I’ve had both in a Honda four wheeler and Big Red. They all, at some point, became stuck in gear, or started slipping real bad. None were a cheap fix.

I will agree it is not the cheapest to fix but this is a new transmission and not the one featured in those 80s models you used to ride trout

He is hoping they do it big with this unit. He has a tyrex and has very high expectations if Kawi can make it happen.

My brother-in-law that is a prior life long dairyman, wrench turner, knows what he's doing, has his second RZR. The first is, not was, an 800 2-seater. They still have both. The second one is a 4-seat 1000.

I've witnessed unbelievable trails from the back seat. We would be one of several RZRs, no other brand, in western CO. We were on some trail I wouldn't take my Jeep and all of a sudden the whole group blasts straight up a pile of rocks (trail).

This group does this several times a year. My brother-in-law's RZR 1000 is probably 4 or so years old and nothing has ever broken. These machines are unbelievable.

I need a 4 seat. Now if Kawasaki makes it in a 4 seat, I will buy one without question. We will find out January 26th, I will place my deposit January 27th. If they do not, then I’ll likely resort to Polaris.

We’ve been trailing numerous times and by far about 90 percent are riding Rzr’s

I’d love to have one

No. The 4 seat is actually longer than a Suburban. And they have a convoluted 4 wheel drive system

A price of $23K? Seems like a tough year for buying SxS. Low used inventory puts everything at a premium. It looks like a beast.
