I emailed Leupold customer service after leaving the cap to my windage dial in the middle of a wheat field. They responded within 24 hours that they are sending me a new one, no charge. Very impressed with their customer service.

They have been great to me as well. I ran over a pair of my binoculars while chasing pigs in a side by side. I wrote them telling them I'm a dumba$$ and ran over my own binoculars and I'd pay to get them fixed, they sent me a brand new pair 3 days after receiving my damaged pair at no charge.

I used to work at the gun/optics counter in a big box store. Had a customer come in and buy a heavy dangerous game type rifle. I don't remember the caliber, but it was .416+. He also bought a Leupold scope and took it home to mount himself. A few weeks later he was in telling me about how great Leupold's customer service was. He managed to mount the scope without tightening down the rings, at all. When he tried to sight it in, that beast of a rifle kept slamming the scope back and forth in the rings, eventually destroying it. He called Leupold and told them exactly what he did, asking if they could repair it for less than the cost of a new one. Once he shipped it to them, they sent him a brand new one at no charge.

Back in '72 or "73 my Dad bought a Leupold 3X9 VariX and to this day I think it's the best scope I've ever seen on a gun. I bought the same scope in '85 but I still think Dad's is better. Draws in a ton of light.

I've only had one experience with their CS and it was top notch. I bought a Vari X III back around '91 and the magnification ring was really tight to move. I initially thought it was just normal for those scopes until I messed with another one. I called CS and the guy said he knew exactly what it was. He asked me when my deer season started and said he would try his best to get it back to me before it started. I had it back two weeks later with the problem fixed, and they replaced the adjustment turrets because they had just upgraded them in that line of scopes. All free of charge and without a hiccup.

It's called Customer Relationship Management or CRM and the smart companies recognize its importance to the success of their business.

Nobody can touch Leupold's customer service. Two things that will never let you down....Leupold optics and Savage rifles.

I recently sent back a "defective" scope. They went through it and found no problem. They called me and told me to check the mounts and to find if they were correct. That was the problem.
