It's a soft shell or snapping turtle facing the other way, pretty certain of it... Never seen a turtle stand upright on the lip of a stock tank. Looks nothing like a turtle to me. Some kind of mammal. Coyote, fox, or coati.....I’m thinking fox or juvenile coyote

Paws are light colored which leads me to believe it is a coyote rather than a coati.

If it is a mammal it is probably something that is long and slender with small eyes on the side of its head like a weasel or

A friend of mine I hunt with in West Texas got this pic on his trail cam while we were hunting mule deer in the Trans Pecos area. I have my thoughts on what it is and something that I have never seen in person. Sorry about the poor quality but his original he texted me will not read when I try to email it to my desk top..so I took a screen shot of it and emailed it. Young anteater.

I’m saying a juvenile anteater. Head shape doesn’t look right to me for a yote and it looks like the black in the nose comes up higher and wraps all the way around. I could be wrong but just my guess. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2020/12/full-52711-269982-16b7859d_5e26_4f7d_a438_8fc9a0840a95.jpeg)
