Quite possibly it is, think with sporadic cool, not reall cold temps had them going earlier this year than normal. Think the bucks are in wind down cruise mode

Well eventful morning so far... had a few doe, a spike, 4pt and a small 8 come to the feeder... the spike and 4pt had a small sparring session.

I am about 20 miles South of Young Co. but same general area. IMO the rut is still on. Yesterday afternoon I watched an old guy guard a doe for about 40 minutes....would not let anything close to her. Saw a nice young 12 about 30 minutes ago.....stopped by for a few bites of corn and off he went. Sitting here hoping my target buck shows up

My father-in-law killed this close to Newcastle yesterday.

I had one nice 8pt at my feeder yesterday but it was too dark to get a shot on him. Had a big boar come in and run all my deer off. Only one buck has been taken off this property this year and I’ve seen moor deer this year then I have in the last 4 years.

Had pretty good action in Eliasville this last weekend, 11 deer in my feed area friday evening, sat all day saturday and had 13 after the rain stopped around 4:15. Nothing with the wow factor, had a 6pt and an 8pt that were tops 2.5yo, neither had any brow tines. Had a bid bodied 10pt with a g2 that looked like a wooden spoon, he may have been 4yo..let him walk for now. Got 1 pig friday afternoon on the way to the blind, 1 pig sunday morning at 7:10 and 3 more out of a big group at 7:40....gotta love hunting suppressed.

Well I’ll be out tomorrow and Sunday... really hoping “freak buck” comes out!

How's Young county looking?

Last weekend was pretty good saw lots of deer passed a nice 8pt has lots of doe at the feeder. We will see what this next weekend brings!

We had a slow week or so with the full moon, I saw a lot of deer moving mid day and saw lots of bucks but none of the big deer were seen during daylight. I did get lots of Tc pics and they were all just after dark. Hunted a particular big buck monday and tuesday morning and never laid eyes on him, Pumper saw him about 10:30am tuesday just after I had to get back for some work.

We've had a couple nice bucks shot this season. I shot a freak on the 21st and the was the last thing shot. My wife's hoping to drop the hammer on her buck this weekend.
