My BIL has this really clean Winchester lever action 9422M in .22 Win Mag and is curious about the value. He has Ben told everything between $700-$2k

What say you. Serial number shows made about 1983.

Not sure how much this helps but I walked into a gun store with mine and without even looking the guy behind the counter said if that’s a 22 Magnum I will give you 600.00 for it. So that means he could at least get 750-800 for he knew.
I still have it.

I paid $850 for one in July that is perfect except for one small scratch on the receiver. That one looks really nice, I like the grain in the stock.

You got a hell of deal.

That’s a Wintuff model so it’s going to be a little less desirable than most XTR’s and other walnut models. Still dang nice gun just the less desirable laminate stock.

GREAT little rifle

The only negatives to me as far as "collector" value are
1. Laminated stock
2. .22 Magnum, not .22lr

The older .22lr's in great shape will bring $900-$1K.

ChadTRG has a sweet one we used to shoot in the Hunters Rifle Challenges. It was a big hit and VERY accurate with open sights.

DAMM Jes, you're making me want one now.

You just need someplace to shoot it other than shooting paper targets at a gun range ....BORING.

I have an original Winchester 9422 (22 LR) that the serial number shows a late 60's or early 70's mfg date. It was one of the first one's. I've seen values in the $1000 to $1500 for it. It is one of the smoothest shooting 22's I've shot.

I saw one like this 5-6 years ago for $650, in hindsight I wish to heck I'd bought it.

I have the Trapper XTR 9422M it is not for sale, it is the smoothest leveraction I have ever cycled.

For the OPs rifle, if you haven't shot it I would try it before selling. If selling there are good suggestions from others here

I have a buddy that has a mint walnut stocked model. He recently turned down a $1000.00 offer. That one looks to be in excellent condition. I don't know how much the laminate stock will detract from the value, but I'd guess it would be a few hundred cheaper. The stock that is on my buddies gun is beautiful.

I had no idea that my 9422 was worth that kind of money. I have an old one with no checkering, and it was a tiny bit dinged when I got it (for $85 about 10 years ago). The wood is very nice. The action is, as you guys said, very smooth.
