Found out I have tested positive twice for this. Had (2) separate tests done at two different places with both having same results. Tested positive and high antibody count. It got me thinking and researching antibodies. So I called my Dr. and friend to get more info. The guy is brilliant. Left the navy as a high ranking officer and go to med school. He went in after graduating with a BS in nuclear engineering.

I take what he says as legitimate. He explained to me that the virus like any virus is extremely unique and complex. He started telling me that antibodies DO NOT necessarily mean you can not be reinfected. He stated that what he has seen and experienced with COVID-19 is that antibodies act more like a mitigation than prevention. He said being that it is common for viruses to mutate antibodies alone cannot prevent reinfection. So we started discussing my particular case and he pointed out that I’m a great example. that because my antibody count is very high the infection is not an issue and unless I developed symptoms I would have never known.

Also, that explains why the virus is presently at low levels. This got me thinking and I said “so if the virus can mutate as it pleases (he explained that what I said was a oversimplification) then how does this thing end. How does pharma know if what it has is effective for all iterations. He said flat out no guarantee the vaccine works for the masses especially if they are just getting infected. He said only living essentially in a sterile bubble could guarantee but that is not possible as the overwhelming majority of the world is not self sufficient aside from the economic implications. He basically said the world is at a crossroads and it’s a pick your poison situation.

Either open it all up and let the Darwinian model play out or shut it all down and let the Darwinian model play out not only in the human sense but the economic sense. From a personal standpoint he advocated for the latter. His premise was that if the individuals and corps were left to survive on their own. the US would likely regain a significant market share in multiple sectors and a significant strides would be made in the economy (not with out scars), which in turn consumers and US citizens would ultimately reap the benefits. It was interesting position to hear. Medically he said that goes against why he decided to become a Dr. I guess I’m not the only one that struggles with compassion and empathy vs logic and results.

I wish there was some kind of semblance of When the hell is this going to end. I’m asymptomatic this go around and hope to stay this way. Getting it did make me pause. had it not been for a phone call letting me know I was exposed I would have kept on business as usual and who knows the effect that could of had if I had gone on business as usual. Prayers to all going through trials and tribulations with the virus.

One problem we have is that we don't even know it this virus can mutate.

..but there's a lot we don't know about it.

We’ve had a flu vaccine for 70-80 years. Guess what? People still die every year from the flu. I’ve said since February, unless 100% of the ENTIRE world isolates for 14 days, EVERYBODY will end up getting it. Some won’t know it, some will get sick and get over it and some will die. It’s really that simple. Live your life or isolate yourself on an abandoned island for the rest of your life, your choice. As for me and mine, we’ll continue to live life.

Those of us that are 75+ are basically dead.

This exactly. As for the vaccine, I never do or buy the first generation of anything. Since I have not died from this I will take the risk and see what the long term effects are before I put something irreversible in me. Y’all stay safe.

New Zealand proved the whole 14 day isolation will not prevent it from happening...it's still there because people got sick after the mandatory very strict lockdown their country did. They also have the added advantage that they are a smaller country and shut everything down...to also include their borders. Still didn't work...it is like you said, this is very similar to a new flu that is far more contagious but not yet as deadly as the flu per positive case...just a TON more positive cases because of how contagious it is.

Nice to see you feeling well and coming around to the non-sheep type of thinking Buzz wink I hope you're feeling better bud.

New Zealand shutting down is different than the entire world shutting down.
It’s not more contagious than the flu, it’s the exact same. Hell, measles has an infection rate of 12:1 while C-19 and the flu is 4:1. Did we shut our lives down because of measles outbreaks? Nope.
There’s more people testing positive because everyone and their mother is getting tested! If everyone got tested for something when they were not even showing signs/symptoms, this world would be amazed at how many people have all kinds of crap from the flu to hepatitis.

this.

Spot on

Look at it this way; terrorist, non-state actors have the means to use pathogens as a biowarfare weapon. I'm thinking this pandemic is being used to change peoples perspective of the need to use PPE for personal defense.

How so? I read quite a few stories about our older population recovering.

I've thought for the past year that once big pharma gets a better understanding of it, you'll see something like a super-Flu shot that will come out every year and have the common strains of the Flu and Corona virus's.

Thanks,
Rich

Your eye are just now being opened to the fact that is money to be made in vaccines, not in the cure.

Just like the flu shot. The dosage people get in the annual shot is very low. That is why it is only 30-60% effective. You can get a higher dosage but that is a very specific request.

Your eyesight starts getting weaker but your ability to
see through people's BS gets much better.
