Thanks a bunch for the thread. We had similar threads several years ago when the TV markets were emerging. They always managed to talk about Duck Dynasty on the threads.

I specify Best Buys store brand. I bought an Insignia plasma (Best Buy) about 8 years ago to go outside and it’s still working great! Funny thing is it says Insignia on the outside, but says Samsung once you turn it on and co figure it.

I just bought two TCL's. Never heard of them, but the online reviews were excellent.

Though there was recently a vulnerability disclosed. https://www.komando.com/security-privacy/smart-tv-security-flaw/764122/

We have three 55" Tv's, two Sony's and a Samsung. I like them all, but the picture on the Sony's suit me better than the Samsung. I watch a whole 2 hours per week of tv, so my opinion is probably not worth much on this subject.

This is a great site for TV reviews. Down side is you can get analysis-paralysis very easy. https://www.rtings.com/

I have two Mitsubishi 81's, one I use for gaming. We also have a couple projectors. The projector we use by the pool has a built in DVD player, it was inexpensive and great for entertaining. My wife has this little hand painted sign with " Dive in Theater" on it. Its a play on the phrase " Drive in Theater".

I have a 55" as my largest. Its an older Samsung, rated as the best at the time, maybe 6 years old and a great picture. Having said that the last time I read up on the subject Sony had the best reviews and Samsung was like in 4th or 5th place.

Our living room has a 50" JVC that we bought at Sams Club probably 8 or so years ago. It's not a smart TV and I didn't want one that was and still don't. It has a great picture though.
