I heard a rumor that my guys would be cooking an opening day Lunch. I have done this in the past and have had great results. I am curious of what y'all do....or dont do??? I will start.

This years menu will consist of:

Charcoaled Dove stuffed with your choice of onion or jalepeno or both and wrapped in bacon.

Jalepeno poppers wrapped in bacon and stuffed with monkey jack cheese and whatever else we can find and chop up.

Diced potatoes with butter, onion, Pablano peppers, and garlic. AND for those of us who are limited out! ICE COLD adult beverages. (Can you say Miller Time)

For Dinner: A Fish fry! Yahootie! LOL!

DQ country for me. It is too hot to stay at the lease opening day so I drive back home afterwards. I'll go on my real dove hunt a couple weeks later out in West Texas where we cook and grill for each meal and don't drive anywhere but the field at night popping rabbits and coyotes.

If it gets too hot we just jump in the tank or go back to the hotel and get in the pool!

It is the job of us hunters to feed the family on Labor Day when we have our "big bird dinner". We pressure cook them so they are so tender the meat falls off.

Greens Outfitters will have the pit BBQ for us after the hunt opening day ! Can't wait
