This ammo crunch has caused me to dig through and find out what I actually have on hand. Found an old box of Winchester 6mm Remington ammo. $11.59 pride tag still on it. (Bonus points if you remember Oshman’s.)

One daughter's first job was at Oshman's. She always thought of me as a bit racist, until Holy Week and our neighbors to the south invaded the store. MAN, she was cranky.

My wife worked there in the 70’s laying out all their ads. Still have a a Browning Down jacket I bought there.

How about Gibsons and TG&Y. I think I’ve still got 22 ammo from both places.

How about Gibsons and TG&Y. I think I’ve still got 22 ammo from both places. There's a Gibsons in Weatherford that's better than any Gibsons I've ever been in. Lots of firearms and supplies, but, they were out of primers too.

Between 1980 and 1995 Lewisville had a Gibson's and an Oshman's...or was Oshman's in Denton?
League City or Friendswood had a TG&Y between 1974 and 1980.
Pass the gravy.

The first time I ever saw an AR-15 in person was at the Oshman's in Port Lavaca in 1983.

I know there was one in Nassau Bay - just off of NASA RD 1.

Oshmans on Forest Lane in Dallas.
I remember getting on the "list" for a Model 29 after Dirty Harry came out. Oshman's was selling them at retail about $400 if I remember correctly.
I also LOVED the one near Northpark 75 & Park Lane.

League City or Friendswood had a TG&Y between 1974 and 1980. The Gibsons was there in the late 70s. It’s the only one I remember seeing. We moved east in 81 and that when I encountered TG&Y. It was in Terrell, which was the closest town for any kind of shopping. It’s also where I saw George straight on his Walmart tour.

My uncle cleaned out some junk a few months ago. He sent me a bag full of once fired factory brass etc. and amongst it was a single box of Remington 30-06 180 grain corlocts. I posted about them a little bit back as they only chronographed at an average of 2500 FPS and change with an almost 200 FPS extreme spread over 5 shots.
The price tag on the box was $6 and change I believe. Anyhow I wanted to use them up because I am short on 30-06 brass and can't just go out and buy some lol so i zeroed the gun with them. Took it out this weekend and shot a doe, dropped her DRT.
It's hell eatin em live
