I saw this thread and I wanted to build one.

https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/8010177#Post8010177

Bought a standard 10/22 and a 6 D cell maglite. Took a lot of thinking on how to make it all go together but I finally decided to cut the flashlight tube just behind the switch. The end that screws on was drilled out to go over the barrel and I ground off the threads on another end cap so it would fit the other end of the tube. On eBay you can find a threaded adapter that mounts to the end of the barrel. Of course it didn’t fit correctly so some dremel work was required. I also got 2 barrel nuts to screw on to the adapter.

The iron sights were removed because the rear cap won’t clear the front sight. The diameter of the maglite is 1-1/2” so I got a router bit in that size. The shape of the stock wouldn’t allow me to use the router mounted to its table so I tried to freehand it which required me to get on the forum and find a replacement lol. For round 2, I built a jig to hold the stock in a vise which allowed me to use a bolt on router guide. This worked well and only required a little dremel work to create a pocket for the end cap. I used JB Weld to attach to front end cap to the tube and to hold the barrel nut to the cap.

Finally I added a 4X30 scope and a bipod to finish it off. A lot of trial and error but it all came together. No, it’s not suppressed but it was a fun project that didn’t cost much to do.

The real deal

It was a fun build. I like trying to piece stuff together and make it work.

You did a great job. Now drag it down a gravel road a mile or two to give it that slightly used look.

Yep. I didn’t want to spend $500+ on a suppressor barrel and then give the atf $200 for the privilege of owning it.

A cool idea might be to cut the stock barrel down and thread it. Then I could put a standard 22 can on it and have it hidden inside the mag lite. At least the can could be used on other stuff.
