2nd week in a row that a "customer service" rep from Amazon has called to verify my purchase. Due to the heavy accent I had trouble understanding her. She got kinda narrow minded, actually PO'd when I started asking stupid questions about why she needed my account number. I told her I didn't know it and asked her to look it up off the order for the $800 new Iphone. That's when she really got peevish. Anyway I kept asking stupid questions and kept her on the line for about 5 minutes. I'm retired and it can sometimes get bored.

Called Amazon and they verified that I had no orders.

All you had to do was check your account online to determine whether or not you had orders. You may think you won the exchange with the scammer but you didn't. She verified your number belongs to you. If someone calls me and I don't recognize the number I don't answer it.

No Amazon callers, just automated car warranty extension calls.

Now that I'm retired, I set up my IPhone to where only people on my contact list get through to make my phone ring. Anyone else gets sent straight to voicemail. If it's a legitimate person they can leave a message. The spam calls have almost completely stopped because I'm not answering them anymore.

You and me both, that's why I answer the phone when I don't recognize the number or it says possible scam on the screen with the incoming call. Playing a phone sex worker is too tempting to pass up. Especially if they're female trying to sell me something.

I hate the phone trolls so i take them for a ride. I asked one the other day if she knew how long would it take battery acid to eat up bones. And the next one got the question, At what temp does bathtub C4 becomes unstable? The third one hung up when I said, Hold on, she got untied and is trying to get out of the trunk. They have no humor at all!!!

Somehow an older person (cannot tell if it's a male or female from the voice) misdialed my number a couple of months ago and I tried to explain they had the wrong number, but they wouldn't listen...Every so often I get between 1 and 3 calls a day and then it goes quiet again...Yesterday I received 9 phone calls because they needed hearing aids for their batteries... bang Not spam, but definitely irritating. I've had this number 21 years now, so I know it's not like they are calling someone that has recently changed their number.

Yet another benefit of being retired.

I do business all across the country, literally anyone that remotely tries can find my cell on the internet. It is so annoying picking up a call because you cant miss real business calls only for it to be some automated scammer. The real people that are scammers that call, I enjoy messing with them.

You guys do realize that once these people verify that your number is valid, they sell it to other scammers, right?

I still have a flip phone and rarely get scam calls. My wife, however, get about a dozen per day.

Had a lady give someone wrong phone number, which is mine.

They ask for her by name and know her address in McKinney

This started about 8 years ago, I bet you I have had about 5000 calls from house flippers calling for her over the years, it's beyond frustrating.

I let my wife guilt/convince me to give in and get a flue shot since it was free with my insurance. Now i get multiple calls a day from someone claiming to be affiliated with my insurance wanting to make me aware of the free benefits that I am eligable for but not taking advantage of with my insurance. I have been polite, I have asked them not to call, I have asked them to take me off their list to no avail. Last night I finally heard them out for just a minute to make sure it was bs, which it was and then I was very rude.
