I wanted to complete a quick review of a recent hunt I had with Mulie Mike in Sonora Texas. This was my first South Texas Whitetail Hunt and as I was looking for a hunt, I could not afford a 2,500.00 or even a 3,500.00 dollar hunt. Long story short, I replied to one of Mike's post on this forum. From the very first email, it was an easy process, and that includes many times I was extremely late responding back to his emails. I drove out from North Carolina and met my guide (Tyler-Awesome dude) in Sonora Tx. We went to the ranch and checked my zero, and was shown the cabin my brother and I would stay in. Tyler when over the rules, and our plan for the hunt the next few days. I can tell Mike and Tyles did their homework prior to us arriving.
The opening day had high winds and kept the animals at bay, but we did see some pretty cool exotics. I ended up scoring the last day of the hunt, literally in the last 20 minutes of light. It was awesome harvesting a beautiful buck, but being able to spend Veterans Day with my brother who also is a retired Veteran on a cool ranch, was arguably the best part. The cabin we stayed in was nice, comfortable and they provided a nice grilling area. If your a first time hunter or a veteran hunter, I would check Mike out. We will be returning next year. This is a quick review, but I truly enjoyed working with Mike and as I told Tyler, when I left the ranch, I was going to have a huge smile on my face regardless. I hope this helps someone that is in the similar shoes I was in.

That's a Mulie Mike hunt for ya. My experience was just as good, including Tyler as my guide. He really works to get you on an animal.

Sounds like they did it again. Back in May Tyler put 2- 17 year old boys on Blackbuck doe a total of 4 killed in just over half a day. Kudos to them, great people.

I've never met Mike but in 2009 my oldest was 12. We had struggled getting his first deer the previous two seasons but they were pretty scarce on the lease I had mainly for quail. I took a chance and booked a management whitetail hunt with Mulie Mike and we headed to the High Lonesome Ranch south of San Angelo. Everyone was very friendly and we felt welcome.
The person running the place talked to my son (who was obviously very excited) and after chatting with him for a bit told him not to worry about the management part, just shoot any deer you want, even if it's the biggest one on the place.
He ended up taking a spike on the last day but I always remember how they treated him and encouraged a young hunter. He has since shot much bigger deer but he always remembers that first deer! First class organization.
