Son In Law wants Santa to bring him one. I Don't use them, too heavy and I don't fly anywhere. BUT, he does.
I have owned a Storm case with wheels, thing was a tank.
What do you use for your hard case? For a scoped rifle.

I use soft cases but had to buy a hard one to fly to Canada last year. Bought a Pelican V800 and it worked fine, only used it the one time.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I have a Plano that is pretty solid, but if I were flying a lot, I'd go Pelican, or perhaps even one of the metal cases.

Soft case inside a Pelican 1700 w/ wheels. I don't like messing with the foam type.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

I have a pelican vault double rifle case. plenty of room for one scoped rifle. plenty of room for two. Flew with it and when it arrived at destination my rifle was perfect.
I have heard stories of people who flew with lesser cases and the barrels got bent by being run over and stuff. If the person flies at all, go good or go home. Pelican, SKB, Boyds. Those are where you should be looking. probably not in that order but there are several to choose form each brand.

I have a Tuffpak and think highly of it. They can be bulky though, which isn't a problem on an airline, but it can be an issue for small charter planes.

Pelican. It’s funny how people will spend thousands on a gun and hunts then frown at $200 to protect it. I do understand the people who don’t want that big and heavy of a case though.

https://www.peakcase.com/My Vudoo case is made by the above link, it’s super nice and the foam already is cut out to your specs.. check them out, they are also inline with what the pelican case cost but with the custom cut foam. My case is heavy, built like a tank I’d say maybe even better than a pelican storm or any of the weather proof cases..

I dont fly with my gun(yet) so ive never worried about a high end case but if I did I would take TexBuck advise and "go good or go home." Buy once, cry once. I dont know which ones are the good ones but thats what I would be looking at.

I have a Pelican 1750 case. I've only used it for two trips to Alaska, but it was worth every penny for those trips.

Harbor Freight makes a Pelican clone called Apache. You might check it out. Its a pretty good case for the money, plus add one of their coupons.

I don't think its been mentioned but you should definitely look into pelican cases.
Our tool boxes are pelican cases and damn they can take abuse but they are absolutely terrible at keeping tools in place.

Same here, I own both. The main difference other than the latches is the weight. The Cabela's case is noticeably heavier. Both are built like a tank and have held up over the years. I've got a Pelican and a Cabela's. Both are built like tanks. Have both and both are tough cases, like the latches on the Cabela's better.
