Just wanted to show off my new shorty Tikka that I will be shooting suppressed. If anybody is on the fence about the Tikka Prefits, do not hesitate. This is a Carbon Six Prefit that screwed right into the action and head spaced perfectly. Rifle weighs 7lb 7oz. Gonna try some Copper Creek 150 grain Hornady ELD-x's at first to see how they do. Will report back after I've had a chance to take it to the range.
I love me some short barrels....that will become one of if not your favorite rifle.
Also, don't discount 120/140's...especially if you don't plan on shooting much past 300y...it will make up a lot of speed that you cut off with that barrel.
Congrats!

7-7 seems heavy, is that with the bipod? Or is the stock just heavy?
I want to build something similar, either an AI or a SAW with an 18-20". It will wear either an Omega or Harvester it's entire life, probably a Bushnell 4.5-18 LRHS, and throw 162s.

That's bare rifle. Stock is a McMillan A3 with a 5 round AICS mag.
I love a carbine! I own only one long gun with a barrel longer than 18" and I rarely take it out of the safe. My daily driver is a 16.5" 6.5CM on a R700 action.
