I couldn't imagine going 237 mph on the water. My uncle was into fast boats - he had an Eliminator that would run mid 140s...fastest I've been was 130...pass on that!

I remember when National Geographic included Dennis "Hoot" Gibson's boat Hot Licks for a documentary on speed. He used to take that boat and race it up there in Marble Falls, It was an expensive "hobby" and you needed hearing protection if you were anywhere close.

I've been in a boat going 90 mph once. I just can't imagine.

Total rebuild after every race. If there was a back seat, it would throw your head in it.

My Allison with a 280 from Mercury High Performance ran 105 on GPS and 107 on Radar and that was plenty fast enough for me.

I don't think most folks have a concept of how fast that is on the water.

I've been 109 mph in a 1/4 mile. Too damn fast. I'll stay in my toon and watch.

On a fishing trip, I woke early and needed to go for supplies at marina in a buddy's boat. According to speedo I was doing 87, and that was plenty fast enuff for me. I actually backed off pretty quick cuz they get a bit squirrely, even in smooth water. Can't image 230+.

you probably don't feel it near as much in an enclosed cockpit. wind is a biotch.
