Buddy is looking at one. Anybody have one? Good? Bad? For the price and features at least on paper seems like a great gun for the price.

Great guns.

If they made a left handed action when I was in the market I would have a couple of them.

My partner has two, one in a .300 win and the other in a 6.5cm. Both are 5 shot, one ragged hole type guns.

I'd consider one if they had a model with 16"-18" barrel for suppressor.

They have a 20” barrel with a removable muzzle break. So I’d assume it’s 18” without the break. But can’t tell exactly

I would not spend any money on a Christensen unless I shot it first to confirm it's a shooter first. Otherwise, it's a craps shoot on how well they do. I have seen some shoot very well, but I have seen MANY that won't hold 2-3 moa or worse.

That would be a hard pass for me. I like the looks but I don't want to pay roulette with what they cost.

It's not for me Buzz. I'm planning on a build. I was asking for a friend.

I had a 300wm Ridgeline that shoot Chad's 212 ELDX load well. I handled quite a few at some different stores and I have even bought a stock off one to use for another gun... but then sold it. A buddy had one of the earlier generations pre-ridgeline, can't remember the model.

Here's my $.02 -- as most have said, they are not a foolproof proposition-- they may shoot, they may have a burred chamber or worse that takes awhile to get fixed. The customer service is FAR better than it used to be-- which is disappointing there was that much room for improvement.

Ridgeline- the majority of the actions I have worked and that I shot were not as smooth as I would prefer given a nearly $2k price tag and the engagement on cocking barely felt better than a factory Remington-- the ones I shot, shot well (7mm and 300wm). Stock: Total garbage-- yes it is lightweight which is a big part of the equation but the fore end flex is huge, 'bedding' is sub-par and the drop at comb is too low... and quite frankly for the cost the fit and finish for the rifle overall just isn't there for me-- my rifle had bedding material stuck to metal (thankfully on the outside of the action), the cerakote was not evenly applied... but it shot, however being the time before LH offerings that rifle had to move on. I would not own a ridgeline without putting it into a different stock (+$600) but that's my opinion.

Now- I feel differently about the MPR which is their chassis variant. Everyone I handled from 308 up to 338L was noticeably slicker on the action, the chassis is well thought out and I am a flat trigger and side baffle brake fan.

Hope this helps!

A buddy of mine had one and I assisted in load development. It hit pressure almost 300 fps before it should've....it shot good but there was something wrong with the chamber/reamer.

I have seen and heard enough they would have to come WAY down on price for me to consider messing with another one. Much better options out there in my opinion.

Just save your money up and get APR to build you a rifle.

The ones I've shot, not good.

They cause lots of extra work to make them shoot, and then their best, ain't that great.

That would be a hilarious testimonial for their website.

FYI, my gun wasn't a Ridgeline, but sorta agree with what you are saying. Something was going on with the chamber for it to run 300+fps slower than the gun I just built. However, the gun did shoot close to 1/2" MOA.

***UPDATE****

Walked into Rays today in Dallas. Friend picked up a Christensen, Fierce, Browning, and then handled a Proof Research.....60 seconds later said I will take it. Walked out with the Proof Research. Then blamed me for taking him in there. I love friends with money that impulse buy stuff.

Actually far less than APR from what I’ve seen. $3,000 for a carbon fiber stock and barrel is over 3K from APR. and no on the Kahles. He’s a Nightforce guy.

Depends on the model. Proof introduced a new line called the Elevation a little while back. They run around $2800, but the Glacier, which is their flagship, is like 6K+

I typically build all my rifles, but I took a gamble on a Ridgeline in 28 Nosler several years ago. I must say mine is a fine shooting rifle with and without reloads. I have heard many stories about the other side of the coin, though...
