So. The older I get, the fatter I get, and the fatter I get the more I have acid reflux. After the attack I had last night, I am going to have to start taking something until I can lose some weight. Anyone recommend an OTC that works best??

I think I have it narrowed down to citrus that causes it. I love an Arnold Palmer. I had one at lunch yesterday as well as some for dinner, along with my wife's homemade Pico with lime juice. Last time I had a bad attack was after Arnold Palmer's all day followed up with vodka tonics with limes. In the mean time, I want to take something. That stuff kicked my [censored] last night. TIA

Man. Just keep eating and drinking the same thing and beat your body into submission.

Give up the limes. Try Rolaids.

I had it pretty bad about 15 years ago and ended up with esophigitis. Aciphex helped me get through the rough part of it.

Pepsid Complete.
I quit my prescription HB medicine because this works instantly and better.

I gave up hard alcohol for the most part back then, also learned portion control and cut back on fried foods. About the only thing I take anymore is an occasional alka seltzer when I feel it acting up.

Me having the CPAP has eliminated my acid reflux, it wasn't often that I'd get it but after eating certain foods I'd get it, also diet change has helped it to be nonexistent.

Don’t know if you remember me asking about this recently. Ya know what fixed it? Tacos w habaneros and Shia Fresca. Haven’t had a problem since! Something in it helps. I don’t know what because there’s lime ALL in it.

I did a sleep study quite a few years ago and was told I didn't have sleep apnea, but excessive snoring. Dr. said that a CPAP would help, but because I want diagnosed, insurance wouldn't cover it.

I took Prilosec for about a year and it went away.
A banana seemed to help a lot too.

I was wondering about the fiber in Whole Foods being the trick.

As a guy that has suffered from acid reflux for most of my adult life, you should see a specialist and follow their recommendations. I toughed it out for a few years before I gave in and went to the doc. Ended up with Barrett’s Esophagus, which means I am a much higher risk for esophageal cancer. I have to do regular scopes with biopsies to keep an eye on it.

I am on 40mg of omeprazole daily, and probably will be for life.

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.

Thanks for the advice, I will do that. I am still feeling the effects today.
