Just wanted to pass along to those who hunt the Timberdoodle that they are showing up in SW Arkansas pretty good in early November which is highly unusual. Should be the same in East Texas and north Louisiana.

Seen 2 yesterday evening at the lease here in East Texas. Always wanted to hunt them and heard they are good to eat.

CCBIRDDOGMAN gave a pup to a THFer who hunted woodcock successfully for years.

GREAT NEWS! Kind of makes me want to get an Arkansas hunting license and start early. The old lady has family in Lockesburg that we need to visit anyway. Does anyone know how to find a listing of Arkansas public spots that allow woodcock hunting (with dogs obviously).

There is a lot of public land in Arkansas but unfortunately all of it has deer and Arkansas deer hunters don't like to share so be careful if you decide to go that route. The good thing about Arkansas is that people who own land are much more likely to allow a bird dog man to hunt on their property than Texas land owners are.

More public land than TX and I want to get my dog on some birds before our season opens.
