Turkeys around the ranch house are getting a little too comfortable. My cousin sent me this picture with a note that the tom was pecking the glass on the front door.

Hmmm, I’d be throwing them on the smoker...

I love having turkeys around, I don't mind feeding them.
Have a nice group that lives by our camp now. See them every day I'm there. They are tame and never been shot at. I'm putting up a feeder just for them in their area this week. I may regret this decision but Ima doer. Gonna shoot one soon.

My uncle puts milo in with the corn in his deer feeders for the turkey, quail, and dove....absolutely covered up with them. He fills the feeder almost to the top with corn then tops it off with the milo then stirs it by hand. The milo filters down into the corn.

Back a few years ago one of our hunters was working on a feeder. His car was backed up to a spot and he was sitting in the back of the car, had opened the back door/hatch. A group of turkeys came up close to him then one jumped up into the car right by him. When he returned to camp the turkeys followed and stayed there. Never knew why they were so gentle....they stayed around our camp and began to roost in a nearby tree. Became a mess around their roosting tree. Caught them and hauled them about 2 miles away, short time later they were back. Eventually took them about 20 miles away and that did the trick. Never knew why they were so gentle.
