What is the easiest device to go to?
Let’s say you’re really old and have problems remembering buttons and remotes etc

I have 2 non-smart TV's that I use a ROKU device on each. Pretty simple once setup. The amount of button pushing probably has more to do with the streaming service used.

Roku. Only downside I have with my Roku's is the ability to cast Facebook live to the TV. If I need to cast something from Facebook, I use a Chromecast device or use my Sony TV that supports casting from my Apple devices. Other than that, I think it's the simplest interface to use/navigate.
Thanks, Rich

I'd love to ditch cable, but we do not have good internet available at a cost that is feasible, easier just to keep cable

Another vote for Roku. But don't cheap out and buy the little stick device. Get their Roku Ultra device. So much faster and responsive.

Once you have bought the roku is there a monthly service?
Do you have to buy a roku if you have a smart TV?
They are in the city 75234 zip
These old people are currently paying $162 a month for some terrible cable and basic internet. I need to get them on a different path

I need to get them on a different path We have two roku tvs and there is no monthly service to have, it's just a smart tv that has all of your online streaming services access. If your tv is smart you may not need the roku unless you can't add apps to your tv. Since our tvs have roku on them already we just add the apps we want to it like you would on a phone.

Once you have bought the roku is there a monthly service? We have two roku tvs and there is no monthly service to have, it's just a smart tv that has all of your online streaming services access. The Roku is purchased outright. After that there is no fee to use the base device. But there could be additional costs depending on what services you want to use. For example, Sling is not free. Of course, everybody knows Netflix is not free. Just two examples.

Roku was very easy to switch to. I had apple TV for a short time and could not stand the remote. Roku was very simple to learn.

Just buy a smart TV with it preloaded. No need to buy extra devices that means more remotes to learn and keep up with.

I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Buy Roku plug into the usb The new one needs more juice, has the go in a USB adapter. Kind of a pain but way faster than the old Roku stick. They will upgrade you for $15.

Right now I’m sitting at my rural property South of Bowie. I have an antenna and get about 40 channels. I get D/FW channels including Fox, nbc, abc , and cbs plus a lot of other stuff. Some in Espanol, some in Vietnamese, some cartoons, some that are 24/7 marketing and occasionally Wichita Falls.
I’m doing this on my IPad.
Wife can work from here with a device that I can’t recall the name of for internet.
It’s free but does run up the phone connectivity minutes.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.
