Anyone know of an FFL in the Austin or San Antonio area that ships rifles to California?
I've already tried McBride's in Austin and they do not; so if anyone knows of an FFL that will ship to California and has done so in the past please contact me by PM.
FYI - This is for a double barrel side by side

Ummm..... I'm not sure I should butt in where I don't belong, but..... I've been told many times by FFL holders and one ATF agent a citizen can ship a long arm to an FFL holder. It does not have to originate at a FFL. But it must terminate at a FFL holder.

Except for the people republic of stupid laws AKA the state of California; Which apparently requires that it not only be shipped from an FFL but further requires that said FFL be on file with the California department of justice.

FFL to Cali is a pain because you have to register with California’s own DOJ even if you’re an FFL.
Most avoid it like the plague
Edit; you beat me by a minute:-)

I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect. Some people live an entire lifetime & wonder if they ever made a difference in the world, a veteran doesn't have that problem. Reagan

Try looking on GunBroker, click link. Find FFLCalling down the list one by one and wading through answering services and one by one - "No we don't ship to California" ...... So back to square one - Does anyone specifically know an FFL that they KNOW will ship to California and has done so in the past?

Form a friend that is a FFL broker/dealer.
He really avoids shipping to CA. Here is a scenario:
He legally sells a firearm to a CA resident at a show in TX. He MUST ship said firearm to a FFL in CA. Once the FFL in CA receives the firearm they must go on the CA AG site and run the make/model of firearm to see if it is legal to possess in CA. If the firearm is not legal in CA the CA FFL CAN NOT turn it over to the legal purchaser nor can they return ship the firearm to the TX FFL. So the legal purchaser doesn't get the gun and isn't going to get a refund from the TX seller because the seller can't get the firearm back from the CA FFL.
My buddy says several CA FFLS are getting an ever growing supply of free guns like this while they wait for the laws to change.

Not close to you, but this dealer does a pretty good business transferring to California since most other won't: https://www.gunshop-sjtx.com/https://www.facebook.com/The-Gun-Shop-1260985270715315/Cass

Why not just ship it yourself since it is legal?

Why not just ship it yourself since it is legal? Yes, Sir. As long as you mark it to be opened by you only. Absolutely fine with ATF.

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

It has NOTHING to do with the ATF - it is the state of CALIFORNIA that requires it to be not only shipped FFL-FFL, but that the FFL sending it must be registered with the California DOJ before shipping. FYI - Dury's in San Antonio will ship to California

He references a link to the CA OAG FAQ page...click on and read read item #2. Can you tell all of us in the class what it says?
