There is a thread somewhere on here about Tactacam Reveal. I now have three. Mine cost $110 each with two day delivery from Cabelas. Easy to set up and $13 a month for unlimited photos from a single camera and you can add additional cameras if so desired. Double A battery life is exceptional. One of my buddies saw my photos, bought a couple on line and threw his SpyPoints away (his words, not mine). It's not always easy to get them as they seem to be in high demand. If you can find something with a better photo quality at a more affordable price, please let me know. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2020/10/full-66255-257559-c331eee7_c696_4724_87b3_e0195d5e7fa0.jpg)

They offer both. AT&T works best where we hunt in South TX. Btw, the photos saved on the card are even better.

I buy Moultrie, can get them at Academy or Moultrie online store. I think the x6000 are about 99 bucks on sale and do good enough for me. You can get either ATT or Verizon. I use Verizon, we have pretty good coverage in our area.
Thanks, Billy

These cell cam threads come up quite often on here. I currently have Spartan and just set up a Tactacam Reveal yesterday. I previously used Moultrie, as did most of the guys at my prior lease, and they are terrible. Constant camera problems, separate modem, and just horrible reliability in general. Most of their cameras would only last a year and then go completely bad. Without going into additional detail, I would stay away from Moultrie.
I have had Spartan over a year now, and I'm generally impressed by the app, picture quality, and reliability. I have it set up to a solar panel and battery, and haven't had to do anything to the unit at all. What I'm not impressed with is the cost and the customer service. I haven't had to contact service except for a couple of times and you CAN NOT get ahold of them by phone and they will not return voice mails in a timely manner. The only way to reach them is via email and it's time consuming. I find that unacceptable. The other downside to Spartan is the actual cost of the camera and the service. With shipping and tax, I ordered my unit for about $335 from Spartan. That's really expensive compared to the newer brands hitting the markets. The other big expense is the $20 monthly fee...$360 per year.
I just set up the Tactacam yesterday. Bought last week at Bass Pro for $100 and pre-purchased a year of service for $10/month. Worked really well right out of the box. I would like to use a solar panel, but I don't think that's an option yet, so 12 AAs are powering it. App is pretty good, pics are a little grainy compared to the Spartan, but still good. I also like the fact that you can add additional cameras for $96 per year for unlimited pics. If this one holds up and performs as I hope, I can't see how Spartan and others can continue charging so much more for their hardware and and service.
I am recommending the Tactacam to others on my lease. They are hard to find right now, but that's probably temporary.

I bought a Tactacam after seeing the pics on here. Love getting pics of hogs and deer from 200 miles away. I also like that Tactacam has options for timely send. If I am at the lease, this will let me know pretty quick if there are hogs at the feeder during the night.

I have 2 Spartans on Verizon service. Since I already had a Verizon plan I was able to add each device for $5 dollars per month. I have had one of the cameras for 4 years which is a 3G camera that they are saying will be obsolete at the begging of next year. We will see what happens. My second Spartan is a GoCam that is 1.5 years old. I have had no issues with either camera and for me long term these cameras will be cheaper to run at $5 per month than the cheaper cameras with more expensive plans...The Taticams are very popular right now do to their price point. Once you get one you will be ready for another.

SowHntr check spypoints web site see what firmware version there using then check camera app and see what version your camera has installed, may need an update. Spypoint seems to work all year relatively trouble free, but as soon as Oct rolls around they start sending out all kinds of updates.

I have two Snypers at the moment. Both are good to me, one is 2 years old and the other is a year old. Their customer service is tough to reach and has become worse. I have my cameras set up and functioning to my satisfaction but they aren’t perfect. Example, the app doesn’t work and never has. I receive texts directly to my phone - as many as 300 per day - and am perfectly happy. Snyper had an advantage (and might still) since they sell a solar panel and t-post mount as a kit with the camera. I’ve had batteries, along with solar panel, last 6 months before I swapped them out.
I will be monitoring how well the tactacam holds up over time. I will never own a SpyPoint again and Spartan ticked me off a couple years ago!

Coverts are what I use but you have to find them on sale. Been running them for 5 years without problems. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2020/10/full-44314-258800-04bd418c_da21_47c1_a58e_0e2dcb1563b0.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2020/10/full-44314-258801-dba32cfe_8d33_4eeb_91a9_e7da2038b17c.jpeg)

That Covert provides some really good photo clarity They do and their customer service is top notch. Couple times a year they can be found for around 270$ a piece and I buy one or two.

We went with a stand alone cellular modems so we didn't have to replace all of the cameras that we already owned. Just North of $50 bucks each (Moultrie)...and we can use whatever camera we want. Also, we were able to move the first couple of modems around to see where they worked best.

I have just about as much fun with my Cameras as I do with hunting. Food plots are fun too.
I bought another XV6000 at Academy on Sat., onsale for 99 bucks they work pretty dang good for the money.
Have cell cams 4 in the field running.
I have to of the older MV2 that connect to a cam on my work bench. I need to change the batters and check the solar panels and put one of those on one of my food plots. I have one area with no stand, think will set up a cam there and dump out some feed and see what shows. up. After hunting season cancel the plans until the next year. I want to set up a mock scrape and put a cam on it, If I can get shook loose and get to the least before I miss my window.
Thanks, Billy

The clarity on the app isn't typically that good unless you request a HD pic from Covert.

I went with RidgeTec after doing a lot of research. Bought my 1st one a month ago. Liked it so well I got another last week. They come with both ATT and Verizon SIM cards. Use which ever is best in your area. Photos are great both night and day. Been killing hogs off of the one on the home place. Twice my phone has buzzed during supper. Grab the rifle and tripod and whack a pig. Got them at Trailcampro.com
