I know this doesn't fit in this thread so I’m sorry about that. I have saved up a good bit of money and would like to buy some nice boots for social gatherings and all of that stuff. Do y’all have anybody or any company to recommend? Thank you.

If you have a lot saved up, I'd do M.L. Leddy's (Fort Worth). Each governor gets a pair from there. I almost had a pair made there out of a 'gator hide that I'd taken. I went with the son of an old man that worked at Luchese's when it was in San Antonio. The son's always so high he "could hunt ducks with a rake." I should have gone to Leddy's. My son like's the much-smaller-than-my-size boots though. They have my initials on them. Kinda west side , but maybe he'll think of me when I'm long gone.

I'm a fan of Lucchese Boots. I have a few pair, one pair of gator belly I really like.
Also had a pair of caimen belly Cinch boots that were damn nice....bought them as a divorce present for myself and they worked as intended.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Check out Texasbootcompany.com, they have a nice store in Bastrop. I've bought 6-7 pairs from them and they have a ton of different hides that a lot of stores don't have.

Define “good bit of money” Custom boots can run high as giraffe peepers. Last pair I had inquired about blew me away when he said $2,000 and then showed me the hides, no way, I’ve seen better hides from Justin boots Last pair I had custom made were by Blackjack when the old coot was still alive.

Tecovas. They have stores in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio. They are hand made in Leon, Mexico and range in the 250-600 dollars range generally. I've been to their Dallas store and they have really nice stuff.

I have a pair of Rod Patrick boots. Best fitting boot I've ever had. I have a very narrow foot (AA width), and they're about the only boot I could find without having to order custom boots. Spent about $450, I think.
