I ordered a new stock from Boyd's for an old eddystone 30-06 I have and it needs finish fitted. Anyone have a recommendation for this around DFW? I would also like to have the gun cerakoted more than likely. The floor plate also needs some fill work and finish on the metal if possible before coating. The "sporterized" Eddystones were notoriously bad when it comes to modification precision and finish. Surprisingly they shoot very well. In essence, they are a bastardized version of the Enfield p17.
I know these guns aren't worth much, but I grew up hunting with one very similar that was my Granddad's. TIA.

I haven't been there in a long time, but Elk Castle on the west side of Fort Worth used to have some good gunsmiths. I had rifles and a revolver worked on there over the years and they did an excellent job every time. They would be worth a call to see if they offer that service.

I called them Saturday and spoke with someone named Garrett. He told
Me they don’t do that type of work, and he couldn’t recommend anyone.

I appreciate the responses.

Elk Castle is now Intrepid Shooting Sports--same place, new management. I haven't been there since the change last year, but they did some really good gunsmithing for me in the past.
