 How do I get Bad Rust off of a Revolver?

I have a smith and wesson model 14 that got rusted up badly. I cannot pull the hammer back, pull the trigger, or mess with the cylinder. If I can get it apart is there anything I can soak it in so I can get the rust off?
EDIT: I am open to more methods than just soaking it.

Kroil and fine steel wool. Get meticulous with it.

Kroil will allow you to break the weapon down. As far as rust removal 0000 steel wool works good. You can get the Kroil in an aerosol at most auto parts houses. AreoKroil. Sounds like you need a good set of screw drivers and punches and watch YouTube videos on disassembly. If you skip the complete tear down and cleaning it will likely always be plagued with issues.

Electrolysis, there’s YouTube videos on how to hold the machine and what to use.
Kroil, marvel’s mystery oil, transmission fluid soaks gasoline would be good too to be able to take it apart..

I have seen a lot of good things about Electrolysis, I plan on trying it this weekend. I didn’t think about it for a pistol, but it works great on cast iron.

1/2 automatic transmission fluid 1/2 acetone
soak for a week
Use COPPER chore boys to scrub
Pass the gravy.

Naval Jelly could also be used on some parts. Just be sure to follow directions.
