Air Force ‘Candy Bomber’ Glides Into Milestone Birthday
PROVO, Utah (AP) — Air Force Colonel (retired) Gail S. Halvorsen changed the course of history with just two pieces of gum. Now has made a bit of his own history. Halvorsen turned 100 years old this month. the Berlin airlift was probably the greatest accomplishment in Air Force history. Thanks for the story!

That is a very interesting story. My office is next to a little local airport. There is a man there that runs a part time museum. This last year he put together a program for the school, and the kids had a chance to come out to the airfield and look at the planes. He told the story about the candy bomber. At the end of the story, a plane came in waiving its wings and dropped a bunch of candy down on the crowd. I was pretty impressed!
