Anyone done any public hunting in oklahoma? I'll be up here working until around December and got curious as to whether it's an option or not.

Rifle can get crowded, Archery is relatively un crowded.
You are to late for draw hunts but some of their draw areas a second to none.
Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, b/c they know not victory nor defeat"- #26 TR

Oklahoma has terrible public lands with very little game and a lot of Okies.
J/k I do quite a bit of public hunting in eastern Oklahoma. Depending on what you're after it can be good. I've personally hunted with all 3 weapons in Oklahoma for deer. I take boats in for rifle and we have pretty good success. Bow season you'll see a few fat guys with crossbows meandering their way through the woods randomly for the 1st week or two. Then if you can read human sign and pay attention to where trucks are parked you can hunt alone 99% of the time and not even have to walk a mile.
I also small game hunt and water fowl hunt up there. Pm me if you have any other questions. Good luck.
PS. Rifle season up there gets sporty. I was bow hunting opening weekend of rifle one time and someone tried to send my boat down stream by cutting the rope. Fortunately they did not know what an anchor pole is. I heard some stories from a guy that made that little incident sound like child's play. After that I stay far away from crowds.
