you should put food in the bottom of the bucket so they will have something to eat while they are waiting for you to kill them. Honestly I was worried more about dehydration, so I put several inches of water in the bucket for them. You old softy...

I did the peanut butter-bucket trap a couple years ago in my Dad's garage out in the country.
In theory it works. The one that I could not catch finally succumbed to a big rat trap.
He was big enough that he could stretch across the bucket to eat the peanut butter, therefore, he never fell in the water.
Luckily, the regular rat trap with PB worked.

Well the second one outsmarted the soda can a couple of times - even ate peanut butter off the wire but not the can. This kinda felt like cheating ... My gosh look at that tail. I'm guessing dang near B&C. Did you get it scored? Or is he high fence?

Here is a rat trap made of scrap stuff. personally the guy has too much time to waste.

Well the second one outsmarted the soda can a couple of times - even ate peanut butter off the wire but not the can. This kinda felt like cheating ... My gosh look at that tail. I'm guessing dang near B&C. Did you get it scored? Or is he high fence? Looks like a opossum by the size of the tail!
I just turned it on . I was looking bird dogs in the butt this morning.
