I can’t remember which one of y’all posted about these homemade traps a while back, but they work! Got the first one today in less than 24 hours. Hoping to catch the second later tonight.

I have never seen a rat or mouse anywhere inside my house over the years. I've see lots of tree rats in my pecan trees.

If those tree rats can climb to the top of one of your 4 ft. trunk diameter trees they would have to be on oxygen.

lmao will do.

The second one eluded me last night - ate everything on the ramp, moved the can closer to the edge of the bucket, but didn't take the plunge. Going to reset the bucket and add a glue trap to where it's sneaking in under the garage door.

Do you think scooting the soda can closer to the edge so they can get to it would help? I am thinking walking the wire is deterring them, but then I am not mouse a expert.
Our Pringles can was longer and went right to the edge of the bucket. Mice could just walk right onto it.
That trap would keep catching mice for a month, pretty cool.

Well the second one outsmarted the soda can a couple of times - even ate peanut butter off the wire but not the can. This kinda felt like cheating ... confused2

I bet a pringles can would work way better than my original setup. I was wondering the same thing.

you should put food in the bottom of the bucket so they will have something to eat while they are waiting for you to kill them.

Honestly I was worried more about dehydration, so I put several inches of water in the bucket for them. grin
