Had a similar incident take place with an ashes container. Funeral home in NB and burial to take place at Fort Sam in San Antonio. The funeral home had described the ash box that came from the incinerator as being a wood grain wrap over cardboard. No one wanted to pay anything extra for an urn. On the way to the grave side service, the funeral director stopped at the crematorium where he found they no longer had any of the boxes with the wood grain laminate. Not wanting to hold up the service, he grabbed the box and went straight to the cemetery. Yep, "Uncle Johnny" was delivered in a cardboard box.

That there family ended up getting lots extra and all because of a suicide.

Oh my. When I sold hearses, most funeral homes had a black or white Suburban to handle such matters. It was usually what they called a 'first call car' meaning it was what was used to pick up the body (regardless of the person's size) and bring it to the funeral home. This vehicle could also then be used when needed to transport those requiring the larger caskets. It's more common than you'd think...

There's some enormous people out there. I once saw a woman at Pancho's Mexican Buffet in Arlington whose body would have filled up half a dumpster or the entire bucket on a front end loader. She shoveled the food non-stop, I couldn't stop staring.

Funny how strange thoughts pop into your head when you see someone that big eating that much food. Like, if they have a septic system or municipal sewer.
