I haven’t had a Lone Star beer in 40 years. Not that I dislike it, but I just buy what I know I do like. Been meaning to buy and try, but haven’t yet. So tell me, is the beer any good? What does it compare to? Am I going to have 5 full cans left to plink with the 22?

Usually I just drink Corona or Dos Equis, though I don’t limit it to those.

It was the first beer I ever drank, so the taste is something that brings back memories. "I don't always drink cheap beer, but when I do, I prefer Lone star. " (Even though the dam union helped close the original San Antonio plant. realmad)

I like ice cold Lone Star Light. But I also like Busch Light, Natural Light, Milwaukee’s Best Light, and Coors Light.

Lone Star is not cheap anymore. It was bought out by Miller and marketed at twice the price. I like Dos Equis and I like Lone Star, but they are not even similar. It’s an original beer for beer sake. If you like PBR, Schlitz, Shiner Premium Beer and the sort, them you will like it. The bottles have riddles on the lid by the way. Cans are hard to find.

Don’t think anyone does. I will cook with beer occasionally, but that’s it.

I like the riddles. The beer isn’t bad, either.

The Lone Star of today is not the same Lone Star of 40 years ago.
A few years ago the brand was bought by new owners and when they revived it they tweaked the recipe. Same thing happened with PBR and that's why they are now considered 'premium' brands.

I do not know about the "new" Lonestar but if it is close to the old beer if you do not like it, then is made a good beer to cook with. Lonestar beer bread was always good.

Yeah, I’ll grab Lone Star if they don’t have Fireman’s 4.

A million memories of Lone Star, Jax, Pearl, Falstaff and Pabst Blue Ribbon. These brands of today have been bastardized by the evolution of peogress.

I do like Lonestar sometimes. It is a Lager, and reminds me much of Budweiser. I do prefer Lonestar light.
