So I have this scope, made in 2014. I also have a VX5-HD. I'm not sure exactly when Leupold introduced these as "HD". Optically, I can't tell the difference. Anybody know, was Leupold marketing and selling VX6-HD in 2014? My VX6 doesn't have that designation, and I got it at a great price. I wouldn't mind finding another one in good used condition.

I suspect the change was marketing to make sure it's clearly labeled as HD. For what they charge, it better have always been HD.

I think from a retailer these were like $1,200.00-$1,300.00. I bought it used in the box, with a receipt from Cabelas, but I don't remember the $ amount. I paid $600.00, guy was selling everything he owned.

Seems like all manufactures advertise them as HD now.

Scott it’s my understanding the HD is significantly better than the original VX-6 glass. Although I’ve never compared them side by side.
