If any one saw this in the store would you buy it? These have a shut off plate in case the control unit quits working and needs to be removed, That way there is no trying to find something to stop the corn from falling out. They are pretty cheap to.
Not really. While I appreciate new and innovative thinking, a rag or paper towel works just as good, heck even the string tab from the feed bags does it too.

my exact thoughts too including a glove and if nothing else take your sock off. I would not buy this product as it would complicate inside funnel and again spaciing spinner plates etc
Thank you all for the honest feed back. I have been using these on my feeders for a while now and haven't had any issues whit it complicating anything. It is interesting to hear what hunters use to plug up the funnel. I've added a few more pictures of one of these on the feeders I use.

For the price I would try one. However, I see it being completely useless after the first year of corn dust and humidity.

The threads on the tightening screw is the only thing that I can see that could possibly be an issue. A bit of anti-seize on those threads will take care of that.
A balled up plastic grocery bag works just fine for me.

Paper towel worked good till the squirrels pulled it out and 150 lbs. Of corn went on the ground the pigs loved it. I didn't get back to the feeder that afternoon as planned.
When you get ready to replace that academy timer get one with a motor that has 1/4" shaft you will like it a lot more, it is gooder! You idea is a good one though.
It's a blastgate damper. I use the often in the HVAC industry. Never needed one that small, usually see them 4" or larger diameter myself. But I definitely see the potential for a smaller one.

I think it’s an outstanding idea for a road feeder as well as a traditional feeder. I could see those being marketable, my issue I see for you is without a patent every body and their dog will be copying it. Id be willing to bet they already have. Good luck and keep us posted.
