Just spoke with a friend of mine that has lived in Wolfe City for over 50 years. The man shot was truly a good person, and was also a lifelong resident of Wolfe City. The officer is very young, was scared and really did mess up. Very unfortunate for all involved.

He also said there is Hunt County deputies, Fannin County deputies, and three Texas Rangers in town. I expect with that level of peace officers, the peace will be kept.

DPD did nothing wrong yet they looted, burned, and destroyed Dallas. That WCPD officer messed up big time. You don’t think this will explode? You really think a few deputies will handle a mob?

It would be better for the deputies to handle it, than the citizens.

BP is completely correct. Look at every other city where things have blown up. People are bussed in to "protest." If the same amount of people turn up that showed up in Dallas - no way the small amount of rural deputies out there can handle that amount of people. Also - it's not like the town is 4 hours from anywhere. It's just a short drive from some of the largest population centers in the country.
