Looking to pick one up just need the upper. What brands should be considered will be used by a 7 year old deer hunting

I have an aero precision with a faxon 18" barrel. It shoots good, not a tack driver, but plenty good for deer hunting.

I have a 20” Sanders that is capable of 1/2 inch groups at 100yds(depending on how I am shooting that day) have had one malfunction, a failure to lock back on an empty magazine.

A shooting buddy has a 20” Atheris, I have seen it group 3/4 inch at 100 yds several times.

If you are looking for a budget friendly option, the PSA offerings aren’t to be overlooked. Not the most accurate on paper but definitely minute-of-whitetail.

I've had an 18" PSA for a couple of years. Upon arrival, it would not cycle. Sent it back and a few weeks later it has been running fine. Simple problem, misaligned gas block, but I thought I would let them handle it.

If you have the tools, I would say build your own. Pick the best components.

Odin Works. I started with just an upper and found I was shooting it a lot more than my .556. Have since built out a dedicated lower.
