Anybody try to buy a major appliance lately? Bought some stuff for the new house at Nebraska Furniture Mart two weeks ago, crazy shortage of washers, dryers and refrigerators. Lead times are unknown.

Shortages are not limited to appliances. HVAC equipment, paint, building materials.

I ordered seat covers for an older truck. Made here in Florida. But due to covid shutdown, it was 4 months wait.

Bought a stand up freezer 8 weeks ago, still not here

Call Walt's Appliances in Grand Prairie, that's where I bought mine back in July after I couldn't find one anywhere else, and their pricing was better as well.

A buddy just built a house so he needed a new fridge.
Bought Kitchenaide. The first two that were delivered didn't even work.
They upgraded him on number three, it's humming.

Another reason we put off building. Lumber prices are higher than a giraffe's azz and appliances can't be bought.

We just bought new washer and dryer for Barndo - ordered from Home Depot. Tried to buy floor models, but they wouldn't sell, so ended up waiting 5 weeks for instore pickup. And they were a week late, so really 6 weeks.

Seen floor model fridges in Lowe's today. Nice price, 4K.

Went to Best Buy outlet a couple weeks ago and it was almost empty, I asked if they were closing and they said no, just can't get anything back in stock....

I hope my Monkey Wards freezer makes it through this shortage. Probably will. Manual defrost freezers run forever.

We ordered a fridge and freezer for the new house in august. Being told we MIGHT have it in January.

I got an old fridge in the garage I might be talked out of. Trade for 1000 rounds of 9mm.

My aunt has been waiting on her freezer since May, they are telling her maybe late November.

I had an appliance party at my house last week. The microwave over the stove went out. The Boss and I went to a independent appliance store to buy one. Luckily the one we wanted, he had two left in stock. Then The Boss reminded me the washer was getting worse about walking with heavy loads. So Mr Appliance Salesman showed me a pair of Electro Lux units. He had one set left, but in titanium, which he sold us at the price of the white units. Got those installed and the next day, the tv went out. But ChinaMart has those by the truckload.

Not surprising considering the calamity over that past several years. Harvey, Imelda, Laura, fires all over. Other events I can't recall in the recent past. Imagine it'll last a few more years till we are caught up again.

If you need business class computers, better grab one quick. That market is running out as we speak. Supply chain interruptions from China. I think there's still a bunch of factories shut down over there because of the Kung Flu and they're hiding it.
