I was reading a light hearted Paradise Valley book and Jesse Stone mentioned banana pudding. Got the hankering. Backed out because of the time and number of ingredients. Was in HEB at the deli. Changed my mind. They had serving size cups I put a couple in my shopping cart. My Lucky day. Shortest line and prettiest cashier. Its been years. Make your own banana pudding? Ever tried store bought?

Wife makes ours using my recipe. I won a county award with it in 4th grade (I think it was my late Grandma's recipe). We are asked to make it for every family function. We had some banana pudding cheesecake at Bryan's in Mineola a few weekends ago. Oh man. It was legit.

Banana Pudding is one thing that Has absolute rules. Must be homemade. Cannot, repeat, CANNOT, be made with any jello product. Must serve with whip cream while still warm.
Done correctly it is sinful. Done wrong and, well....

Just picked up lunch at Juniors Bar B Q in Red Oak. One of his great sides is 'nanner puddin'. Saving it for a little later this evening.

Speaking of this ambrosia of the gods. One, will be whipping up a batch this evening.
Anyway, do you like it best when wafers are crunchy, or do you like them soft from the “puddin?” Banana’s ripe and real soft, or firm.

If any of y'all are in Mineola I recommend the banana pudding cheesecake at Bryan's Cheesecakes - across the street from Cowburners BBQ. You won't be disappointed.

Meh. I've had worse, I've had better on the brisket. Sausage was good. Sauce could use some work. Sides were good. Neat atmosphere. Good beers. We'll give it a few more shots for sure.

My Mom makes the best. Everything from scratch... no pre made pudding mixes. There is defiantly a nak to it... mixing the egg into the pudding a little at a time so as not to cook the eggs. The egg whites are used for the maraign (sp?) on top. Have to whip till it’s just the right consistency and it will make the little tips. Then you put it in the oven set to broil and brown the tips. Gotta watch it real close because once it starts to brown, it will go real quick. I’m telling you it will rot a hole in your teeth!

Performance appraisals was the job I hated the most a a sales manager. We had to rate the salesmen on a 1 to 5 scale. Four and 5 being the highest. Number 4 was meets expectations with number 5 being exceeds expectations. I would rate the store bought pudding as number four. Some of your recipes and thoughts would be a number 5. You knocked my socks off, .

Haven't had banana pudding since my mom passed. All that I've seen since didn't do anything for me. Guess it's a reason to contact my sister to see if she has the family recipe. I looked through my stuff last week and came up empty.
