I have been kinda anal about headstamps. Should I be or is there really not enough difference between the various cases to worry about? Maybe it's a mind thing for me, but, it seems I can group better when shooting all the same headstamps. BTW, I am not talking small groups from a rested position, standing, 2 hand hold and wanting to keep innside a 5" circle at 20 yards with about 2-3 seconds in between shots, and also 4" circle at 15 yards with 1-2 seconds in between shots. i just got thru separating 1500 pcs of brass: RP, FC, Win, Blazer, Various, and what I call military(cases with only groups of numbers on them).

More experienced people than me say there is a difference. I've never personally experienced that difference and tend to not give it any consideration. I'm sure someone here will want to crucify me for saying that...right before the word Lupua comes forth from their mouth...followed by some nonsense about shooting 0.5" groups at 1,000 yards...standing upright and shooting holding the rifle with one arm and using open sights LOL

Nail him up, Nail him up! Just kidding. After 10,000 rounds I can say that the only sorting I have done for 9mm was after a quick check for crimped primers, which I swage out and throw them in the same box as all the others to be reloaded. Can't say I was ever able to see a difference in several pistols including a target pistol.
On 45 I have to sort for primer size. Who was the idiot who came up with small pistol primers in the .45. I get it, you don't need a large pistol primer in a .45 but why change now.... Rant off.

ROFLMAO ...damnit, I knew I was going to get crucified for it! I take it back, I take it back! Lupua! Lupua! You so good, you so great! You make our bullets so accurate! And yeah that different size primers for certain calibers is annoying as [censored]. I'm with you, that should have never happened lol

As bad a pistolero as I am, I consider my hand guns to be, at best, 15 yard tools to help me fight my way to the long gun of choice. So, at 15 yards, I don't see any difference from one head stamp to another. Rifles? You bet! Sort them by head stamp, load them by head stamp, and it will provide you with better accuracy on a more consistent basis.

I don’t sort pistol brass. Never have in 40 years or so. And I don’t have any Lapua pistol brass (is there such a thing?).

Thanks guys. Good to know. Yeah, that small and large on 45 ACP is a pain in the butt.
