Hey y'all, I am running into the unfortunate problem of people stealing equipment off my grandparents land in Louisiana. I'm up here currently trying to come up with a solution because all we had out there was two feeders, two cameras, and a tree stand; all gone now. I work as a deputy for the sheriffs department and am 99% sure who is doing this because they've stolen and poached their entire lives living on the edges of my families 1000 acres but am not going to make any accusations until having evidence.
I am looking for GPS tracking device, preferably small and magnetic to use on the new equipment Any suggestions would be extremely appreciated. I am putting such a focus on this because my grandfather who has hunted his entire life, taught and raised me to do so as well, loves to know whats back there and look at pictures since he is no longer able to hunt like he once did. Thank you!!!!

Tracki brand GPS anti-theft tracking devices should do the trick. Cheap to buy, but the monthly service can add up. They sell them on Amazon. You can also buy GPS pet trackers that are a bit larger and have longer battery life.

Hope you catch them, but please post a followup if you do, and what you used and did in order to catch them!
Too many times on these forums people ask for help and not just on this topic, but then you never hear an outcome, either positive or negative. What results you get may help someone else with a similar problem! Nothing worse than yella bellie, scum of the earth thief!

They make tracking devices for vehicles (teeenagers) but like stated above, come with monthly fees. I think they some are magnetic. You can get them on Amazon.

You could probably easily use something like a dog GPS tracker. For falconry we use very small rf transmitters that have a pretty decent signal on them.

There is one brand of GPS tracker that has a high up front purchase cost but then does not have a monthly fee. Chances are if you put something out there that looks appealing you’ll catch them pretty quick and won’t have to keep up the monthly fees very long. Don’t confront them, call the law.

I swear a few years ago somewhere on THF there was a thread about a small device that worked like Lo-Jack that you could put on feeders, stands, 4 wheelers. Is that ringing a bell with anyone?
I know the company I used to work for had something like that on all the company laptops.
