The "Then versus Now" thread got me thinking....what decade and location would you like to have lived in and why?
For me, I am still contemplating historical events and locations that I would like to have been a witness to.....
So, for you, since the Declaration of Independence:
1. What decade would you like to have been alive for? 2. What location? 3. Why?

I like when I was born, 1949
I like where I was born, Fort Worth
I like how the world changed as I grew up...rock&roll, hot rods, knock on a door and ask to hunt, the answer was Yes. plus lots of tech stuff that has made my life easier as I grow older.

I would say that I would have liked to see the expansion west. I think it would have been very exciting to be part of that move west, seeing the frontier as a true frontier. But then again, AC is nice. So are refrigerators and freezers.

1890's Africa. I can't imagine what that must have been like.
For a quick trip in the time machine, I think a vacation in 1950s Cuba would have been cool, when there were hourly flights from Miami and no communists.

What decade would I like to live in would take some thought. However I would love to have seen certain places in time such as the U.S. in the 1700s, ancient Greece and the ancient wonders of the world and Rome when the coliseum was active. It would be incredible to actually see some of the history that shaped the world and the ancient empires and kingdoms.

1990s for me. I retired in that decade. I had three pointers and got invited to some of the best quail pastures in South Texas. I traveled all over the country to participate in NSTRA in the fall and spring. That left me with the remaining months to gardening and saltwater fishing. I liked it so much that I simply can't bring myself to. Change my profile.

I am satisfied with here and now. I'd rather time travel to the future than the past.

50s maybe. Not much in the way of wars, not too much technology. Hunting was good, fishing was simple and good.

Either small town Texas hill country or western Wyoming areas..... Good economy, mostly peaceful, quiet area with few people....

I am satisfied with here and now. I'd rather time travel to the future than the past. Same here. If Id lived in the past I'm pretty sure I'd have died in my 20's. 1980's was a blast. Knowing what I know now, I'd enjoy it a heck of a lot more. And be a billionaire too.

I think the 70s or 80s, in Central or South Central Texas.
AC was common place. People still said Hello when you passed them on the street Quality of life was good. Technology and connectivity had not become pervasive. Still lots of Quail in Texas. You could travel pretty much anywhere you wanted to, but you rarely NEEDED to travel. Mexico was still a safe place to visit and hunt.
We all need to practice Whoa more.

I am satisfied with here and now. I'd rather time travel to the future than the past. Me too. I'd take the here and now except for quail numbers and my energy. There are now entire counties without bobwhite quail. I gave up walking and went to a UTV several years ago.

I would have liked to have been my 25-28 year old self when Studio 54 was blowin’ & goin’
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Born in the 50's. I loved the 70's had a blast in Dallas partying way to much. Great times and music! Wish while I was young back then I would have spent more time having fun in other places across the country.

If I could pick only one era it would be the time of Christ in the holy land.
I would love to be able to time-travel. I am working on it.
My only sucess so far is forward ... in real-time.
