Howdy all, I just bought a new shotgun in a private sale and the guy before me had attached what looks like a 50 BMG Muzzle brake onto the front of it. Any ideas on how to get this off? I would like to use this shotgun for doves/turkeys but am a little nervous to shoot shot with this on. I've included pictures below, thanks for anyone with more wisdom than I!

Looks like you would loosen the setscrew, back off the jam nut, and unscrew the comp to me.

Congratulations, you now own a Mossberg 500 Roadblocker. That muzzle brake is factory installed. The cheapest way to deal with that muzzle brake would be to buy an extra 26-28 inch barrel from Mossberg that takes choke tubes. I just read on another forum that the roadblocker muzzle brake is permanently attached and if removed would result in you having a shotgun with a barrel less than 18 inches long, a violation of federal law. And take off that silly heat shield Just my .02, LeonCarr

I'm really loving the bead on the brake OP, I'd go find another barrel. They aren't expensive at all.

Why would you want to use a home defense gun for doves?

I'll look into getting a different barrel to put on it, thank you!
