I'm not very knowledgeable on this particular powder, SC. I'm going to load the 300 WSM and wanted to know y'alls experience with this vs the regular 4831? Would I see a difference in the two? Thanks in advance.

In performance, not really.

SC meters easier, and you can cram more of it in the case before getting compression.

Yup, I have used both and same load shot almost exactly the same. Like abut 20fps difference in the 6.5-284 with 140 gr Bergers. You get that much or more difference between different lots of powder. I switched to SC for the reasons Jason said

4831 is my favorite 6.5 powder i shoot it in a 284 and in the creedmoor and as far as it metering better is the only real difference between the sc and the regular flavor performance wise I haven’t seen anything wild or even slightly different. I have a few lots of both varieties and both seem to have the same impact and overall performance. I’d also ad I’m not running either gun hard.. definitely no where near being compressed.

In a pinch either one will replace the other, if I had my preference I’d always buy the sc just because it meters better and drops through the funnel a little easier than the logs of the straight 4831

Excellent powder. It is my powder of choice for a 160 in the 7RM. Very consistent and decent velocity. The short cut meters very similar to Varget. Data for H 4831 and H 4831sc are identical. It is not the same powder as IMR 4831 but is close on burn rate.

As others have mentioned the SC powder is the same as the other H4831 powder. It is my go to powder for my 7mm STW.

I run it in my 7WSM and have been happy with it. It's a little slow compared to a couple of other powders i have use, but it's very consistent and does pretty well with temperature swings.

That's huge, being that I'm doing this on an elk rifle I can fine some a load I like and just do a quick check when I get to where ever I am.
